>> there is a new deal and the mayor said she is grateful to the governor for lending the state officers to help her city, the c.h.p. is already helping the city of oakland with extra patrols but now they have agreed to extend the contract and give even more help. they patrolled two days a week and now they increase that four oakland asked for help when the contract with the sheriff ended over the weekend and the sheriff deputied were patrolling with oakland police and the two agencies could not agree on terms for a new contract. for example, one of the officers, the deputies, was shot in the foot while patrolling oakland and the two sides could not agree on who should pay for the health care and the workers' compensation. with the sheriff deputied gone, and with the oakland police department facing a shortage officers with violent crime rising police had to turn to c.h.p. the mayor's office has not said
